Paintings made during lockdown. I was thinking about James Bishop an artist who I admire. I spent a long time looking out of my window upstairs. I looked at Matisse’s painting, The Arab Coffee house, which I have always loved. It reminded me of time spent living in Jerusalem many years ago. A little boy who I taught in India was called Subham and he drew endless wheels on trucks. Oil paint and pencil on paper 26cm x 18.5cm
